Description

Waynflete seeks an inventive and engaging Science teacher to begin in August for the 2023–2024 school year and beyond. Responsibilities will include teaching in the Upper School, advising in the Upper School, and overseeing co-curricular activities and/or coaching. 

The position requires a specific knowledge of Chemistry and would involve managing a Chemistry lab and storage space for hazardous materials. A highly qualified applicant may also be considered for a Science Department Chair position, which involves support and training of new teachers, liaising between faculty and administration, and leading science teachers in meetings and in development of curricular and pedagogical practices. We seek applicants who are passionate about science, use innovative teaching practices, and engage with students and colleagues in a collaborative spirit. Experience teaching chemistry and/or a masters degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred. The ability to teach either Biology or Physics in addition to Chemistry would be a plus.
