Description

Waynflete is accepting applications for several education mentors to facilitate grades 7-12 remote learning at a potential Remote Learning Hub for approximately 30 hours per week. Education Mentors will be physically present at one of our two possible off-campus locations where students in grades 7-12 will connect to their classes through remote learning. All students and staff present in the Remote Hubs will participate in programming that follows health and safety protocols developed by Waynflete that are in full compliance with the Maine CDC guidelines for health and safety in schools. Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • developing supportive relationships with students

  • creating a sense of community within the space

  • providing students with remote learning guidance and assisting students with executive functioning skills as needed

  • facilitating healthy free period activities 

  • light cleaning (professional cleaners will clean the space every night)

  • monitoring adherence to health and safety protocols 

  • maintaining accurate attendance

  • other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications: Strong Candidates will possess an interest and enthusiasm for working with students in grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in education or other related field and/or have experience working with this age group as a teacher, coach, or youth worker. Applicants must understand that the Remote Learning Hubs are being developed as new programming at Waynflete and the ability to be flexible within the initial parameters of the position is required.
