Waynflete School seeks a half-time math specialist beginning in January to work with teachers of grades K-5 for the remainder of the school year. The position requires teaching a 4-5 math enrichment course guided by the IM scope and sequence, weekly meetings with the teaching teams to work on differentiated math instruction, and coordinating math enrichment activities for each grade level. The role also includes conducting classroom observations, providing feedback, and supporting classroom instruction. 

In the teaching of mathematics, Waynflete aims to provide:
-well differentiated lessons to support rigorous heterogeneous math classes
-lessons that support conceptual understanding as well as computational fluency
-consistent use of visual models through a variety of math manipulatives
-a coordinated scope and sequence that spirals effectively and is aligned with the state and NCTM Standards 
- authentic assessments and a growth mindset for developing mathematicians
