Description

Waynflete School, an independent day school in Portland Maine serving over 560 students (Grades EC-12), seeks a part-time (20-25 hours) Technology Support Specialist to support and assist in the management of the day-to-day technology operations of the school. Position available immediately.

Primary responsibilities include: Providing support for faculty and staff users: laptops, desktops, printers, projectors, Google Workplace, Microsoft Office and other software; Providing whole-school (administration, faculty, students, parent) support for periodic remote learning: VPN, Zoom, Swivl, and other such technologies;  Assisting in the creation and deployment of end-user machines; Collaborating with other members of the Technology Department and the Waynflete community to support the successful delivery of technology services throughout the school. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Technical knowledge of firewalls, networks, Active Directory, computers and tablets, including Microsoft Windows, macOS, and iOS platforms, and Google Workspace.

Desktop support experience with outstanding customer service skills

Experienced with Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems including configuration and maintenance skills

Conceptual and hands-on experience with the following:

  • Printer installation and maintenance

  • Computer and tablet lifecycle, from deployment to decommissioning

  • Audio visual systems, such as projectors, speakers, etc.

  • Data cabling systems

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively, is self-directed, flexible, and organized.

  • Understanding and/or willingness of working within a school setting
