Description

The Manager of Auxiliary Programs is a full time 12-month position that reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs. The Manager of Auxiliary Programs will work closely with the Director and Assistant of the department to facilitate all aspects of Waynflete Summer and Afterschool. This role entails supervising staff, managing program logistics, maintaining communication and building relationships with various stakeholders, and ensuring smooth operations for both Afterschool and Waynflete Summer programs.

The position will work primarily at Waynflete’s Spring Street Campus, with occasional time at the Fore River Campus. 

Typical school year hours: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday (August - May)

Typical summer hours: 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday (June & July)

 

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Hire and Manage Afterschool and Waynflete Summer staff:

  • Interview, hire, train, coach and supervise staff members 

    • (Afterschool Teachers 13+, Waynflete Summer Staff 60+)

  • Submit bi-weekly payroll 

  • Design and run staff meetings and trainings

  • Manage staff schedules for Afterschool, Full Fun Days, Faculty/ Staff Care Days and 6+ weeks of Waynflete Summer camp.

  • Assist the Director with 1:1 meetings and staff evaluations

Afterschool Program Development & Management:

  • Coordination of resources and logistics

  • Assist with DHHS licensing requirement compliance

  • Assist with ordering, purchasing, inventory, and budget tracking

  • Coordinate all aspects of afterschool activities with the Afterschool team, including attendance tracking, snack purchases/time, homework assistance, indoor and outdoor activities and games and transitions to and from Enrichment Workshops.

  • Assist with student enrollment and communication. 

  • Build strong connections with families and local community

  • Provide exceptional customer service

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.

  • Ensure safety across all programs

  • Work in the Afterschool program ~ 18 hrs/week

    • Monday/Tuesday/Thursday and Friday 3 - 6pm

    • Wednesday 12 - 6pm

Waynflete Summer Program Development & Management:

  • Coordination of camp schedules and logistics, space management and planning with facilities and faculty.

  • Assist with ordering, purchasing, inventory, and budget tracking

  • Review camper medical forms, track medications and incidents

  • Ensure safety across all programs and two campus locations

  • Interview, hire, train and coach Program Directors, Program Assistants and Counselors

  • Plan staff training dates and on-boarding in coordination with HR

  • Assist in communication with camp families

  • Manage camp staff and family surveys and end of season staff evaluations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, recreation management, or related field preferred. 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with children in a camp or educational setting. 

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-service mindset.

  • Proficiency in using CampBrain software preferred.

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certified preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Skilled in navigating all Google Suite applications.

  • Dedicated to partnering collaboratively with a team of talented faculty, Camp Professionals and Afterschool teachers to implement inspirational programs and events.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for working with children and creating meaningful learning experiences.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while handling multiple assignments simultaneously
