Position: Camp Counselor, Summer at Waynflete
Interested in having fun, working with kids, and making a difference? Being a day camp counselor is so much more than a summer job — it’s an opportunity to grow and lead. We're looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and creative individuals to join us in delivering an unforgettable summer experience. Camp Counselors report to the Camp Director and support Program Directors during camp sessions.

Compensation: $16.75 - $18.00/ hour based on experience.
Dates of Employment: We ask that Camp Counselors commit to at LEAST 4 weeks of camp.

Pre-Camp Training: Exact dates & times TBD - week of June 15, 2026

Camp Weeks: 6/22, 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3

Camp is closed on Friday 7/3, in observation of Independence Day
Camp Hours:

Camp Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Beforecare/Aftercare Hours: 8:00-8:30am, 3:15-4:30pm daily

Staff Hours:
-
Approximately 7:45am to 3:45pm daily

Occasional requisite shifts staffing before/aftercare from 7:45-8:30 am and 3:15-4:45pm

Not to exceed 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:
-
Work with camp leaders to execute all daily camp activities and tasks.

Assist with activities such as: games, songs, program projects and more.

Assist lessons with enthusiasm, creativity and professionalism.

Organize and supervise campers throughout the camp day.

Complete morning prep and end of day clean up responsibilities.

Communicate camper incidents in a timely manner to the camp leaders.

Participate in daily meetings with camp leaders to communicate any issues or concerns that could impact our campers’ experience or program quality.

Set a good example in respect and care for the community and campus.

Create group unity by building a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Keep the safety of campers in mind at all times.

Attend all required staff meetings and pre-season training sessions.
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Describe yourself as kind, friendly, patient, flexible, creative and energetic!

16 - 18 years of age (applicants 15 years of age are considered upon successful completion of Summer at Waynflete CIT program must obtain a valid work permit)

Experience working with children (ages 4-13) as a Camp Counselor, CIT, etc.

Excellent communication skills
-
Previous experience with diverse populations
